Virginia Lynn Cardwell, 78, passed away Monday, March 8 2010, at her home in Aledo.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford. Burial: Aledo-Brown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Virginia Lynn Cardwell was born Aug. 14, 1931, in Weatherford, daughter of the late Leslie Frank and Ola Lee Baker McDonald. She married Phillip Moore Cardwell Jr. on Oct. 5, 1948, and they began their life together. Virginia made her career as a library clerk at Weatherford College, where she retired after 19 years of dedicated service.
Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church of Aledo and a longtime resident of the community.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the nurses of Community Hospice and No Place Like Home Hospice for the devoted and loving care provided during her final days.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Perry Frank McDonald; and great grandson Micah Heady.
Survivors: Husband of 61 years, Phillip Moore Cardwell Jr. of Aledo; son, Phillip Allan Cardwell of Aledo; daughters, Connie Lynn Heady of Brush, Colo. and Barbara Jane Turner of Weatherford; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother; three sisters; and a host of loving family and friends.
